New Year's Party Hosting: The Guilty Grape Way

New Year's Party Hosting: The Guilty Grape Way

We know the holidays won’t look the same in 2020 but that won’t stop us from trying to make the most of every day. Are you still shopping for last minute gifts? Check out our gift guide [link to last week’s blog post] for presents anyone would love. In December, we’re looking forward to making the most of the end of this year and are thinking about how we’ll gather and celebrate the season. Here are small tips and tricks to make the most of your holiday gatherings, whether it’s you and a smaller group of family, you and your roommate, or simply you and some Guilty Grape wine.

Release your inner holiday elf!

This is the year. Feel free to take out every holiday decoration you own and turn your home into a winter wonderland. One of the first things guests will see when they walk in is your décor. Put a small decoration on your door, make your home comfy with twinkle lights and mood lighting and you’re set for a cozy night in.

Wine and dine in style

This year has been a lot. Your gathering doesn’t have to be. Set out a selection of wine or bubbly, a gathering board (might we suggest our charcuterie board as the perfect holiday décor?), and maybe even a signature drink. Keep it simple and easy, and remember the entire point: making memories!

Light those holiday candles

Smell is one of the most powerful senses. If you’re a fan of holiday scents, light candles with the smells of the season: cinnamon, cloves, balsam fir, sugar cookies…whatever reminds you of the season should work!

Put that playlist on repeat

This is where you can really start to make the gathering your own. Do you want holiday music? A compilation of your most listened to on Spotify in 2020? What mood do you want to set for your home? It’s up to you…have fun with it!

An extra sprinkle of magic

When making a gathering your own think about what makes you unique. Are you a gift giver? Have small gifts for your guests to take when they leave. Do you love movies? Have a black and white holiday movie on in the background during the gathering. Are you a foodie? Incorporate favorite foods for your guests.

Now, more than ever, is a chance to celebrate the little moments. Here’s to making memories, having fun, and as always, great wine.

Cheers!
